Habiba Presents Shahrzad in a workshop:
"Drum solos"

If you were lucky enough to see Shahrzad dance at the Habiba Studo Hafla you know why she has been named a rising star of Orietnal Dance.
The drum solo is one of the most dynamic and exciting parts of any belly dance show. Its the time for a dancer to showcase her isolation and skill while letting go to the energy of the drums. Shahrzad will be sharing her personal technique and secrets for this special part of the dance. Isolations of the belly, hips & chest will be followed by a variety of shimmies. The technique and combos will be put together in an exciting choreography!
Shahrzad is a full time performer and teacher specializing in modern and folkloric styles of Egyptian dance. She has made a name for herself as a featured dancer working with famous singers and musicians at some of the top Arabic night clubs and concerts on the east coast. She currently resides in Washington DC where she is one of the main instructors at Saffron dance studio during the week and travels to teach and perform on the weekends. Recently Shahrzad was presented by Nourhan Sharif in New York City as one of the rising stars of the Oriental Dance.
